Robyn Ward DSsPAC
Growing up with family in the medical field, even as a young girl Robyn started caring for those around her. She worked several jobs to put herself through nursing school at University of Texas Arlington. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she practiced in cardiovascular medicine throughout the hospital including the intensive care unit, emergency room, and cardiovascular labs. She helped to write and initiate all the cardiac open-heart protocols at Huguley Hospital when their cardiovascular intensive care opened. Wanting to do more for her patients, she pursued her master’s in physician assistant studies at University of North Dakota and then her Doctorate in research and Education at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with the primary goal of researching and teaching patients on how to manage their healthcare in a more holistic approach. This dedication for preventative cardiology and congestive heart failure management leads Robyn to compassionate patient encounters to prevent hospitalization and worsening cardiovascular health.
Born in Mount Pleasant, Texas, Robyn moved to Fort Worth in 1991 and has been living and working in the area since that time. She is a current resident in Burleson with her husband. She has 3 grown children that also work in the area. She enjoys fishing, family and most important to her is her savior Lord Jesus Christ.
Beginning her healthcare career 25 years ago within the pharmaceutical field, Danella developed a strong desire to pursue a healthcare vocation in which she could build rapport and increase personal patient interactions. This led her to the field of nursing, where she worked with transplant and open heart surgery patients in the cardiovascular intensive care units at Medical City. Here, although she received both the Daisy Award and the Fort Worth Business Presses’ Healthcare Hero accolades, she recognized that the ability to build, develop, and nurture a lasting one-on-one relationship with patients was missing. Realizing her passion for patient care went beyond facility bedside nursing, Danella pursued both her masters and her doctoral degrees at the University of South Alabama. As a dual degree family and acute care nurse practitioner with a subspecialty in cardiology, she believes in the melding of holistic and conventional interventions to improve patient wellbeing and health, where patients are an active partner in their healthcare plans.
Danella has lived here in Alvarado, Texas, with her husband for the last 24 years. Both her children, grew up and graduated locally from Alvarado High School. She is excited to see the community expanding and looks forward to serving its population.
